It is still one of my favorite seasons, and if it was more like the first half, it would be my favorite.Inazuma Eleven Ares was one of the most disappointing series comebacks I’ve ever seen. Nobody ever (besides the Protocol Omega player in the American v Japan CS game) gets a red card in IE, so it is cool to see things like that change. It had many cool aspects which I love about it, such as Kozoumaru getting a red card. I think this season is sort of frustrating, but I still love it. Overall, I agree with yours points, but I wouldn't really draw the same conclusion. Also, the only real defender in that match was Kazemaru The new hissatsus were cool, but that doesn't make up for it (especially since some of them like Inazuma Break CG are lame). Lastly, the final match absolutely sucked. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the newest defensive moves IJ got were the ones in the Korean match like Ice Ground and Spinning Fence? In general there are little blocking hissatsu, which is something I don't like since I think defenders are some of the coolest players in the series.
Mizukamiya joined way too late imo and didn't get another blocking hissatsu. Another thing I dislike is the lack of defenders. I would've loved to see the France match, or some other countries which aren't represented or have little representation in other anime seasons (like Portugal or Netherlands for never represented and Germany for little since they are in the IE3 game). There, some of the strongest teams were Brazil and Italy, and they just used those again. I also disliked how besides Russia all the countries are reused from Season 3. The matches felt more or less the same to me.
I agree that the rest of the season wasn't good. Some of my favorite matches/moments came from them + Hyouketsu no Gungnir is my favorite hissatsu in the entire franchise, and think the rest of the Spain match was solid. I think that the qualifiers were very good. The final match against Orion team was really good, though. I don't know if it's because of this stupid plot armor from EP27, but I couldn't feel myself interested in Orion, I just watched the rest because I love Inazuma Eleven. Starting from this episode (27), Orion went downhill: matches became complete nonsense (hidden blades and mirrors were weird but acceptable, mines and strings are complete bullshit) and opponents' stories were almost the same. Inazuma Japan was physically struggling the entire match, then Asuto suddenly became overcheated, was able to dribble past everyone and physically compete with Clario. Then came that damn "Asuto is the best dribbler in the team" plot twist: aside from this being a copy-paste of Tenma's talent, it was utter bullshit because it has never been shown in more than 50 episodes. Clario duel was absolutely amazing, Hyokketsu no Gungnir is an amazing hissatsu, and Atusya's goal was epic. For 2 episodes, it was a very intense match, that Endou vs. The tipping point is the match against Spain. Nice hissatsus, the peak of Inazuma Japan as a team. Saudi Arabia: Hikaru stepping up was beautiful.Ĭhina: Just epic. Korea: Nice opening match, good hissatsus,Īustralia: The Kidou vs. Basically, matches were almost worthy of the best seasons of Inazuma Eleven. All qualifiers matches were intense, had good stories and neat hissatsus. Besides the bad art and animation, Orion's first half was very good. So, I've been rewatching some bits of Orion and I can't help but feel bad about how this season is a pure waste.
